What is walnut blasting?
Walnut blasting uses finely crushed walnut shell media to clean carbon from the intake side of the engine. The intake manifold is removed, the port is isolated, and the carbon is removed with blasting and extraction equipment.
This is different from a fuel additive or intake spray. Where the deposits are thick and baked onto the valves, a direct mechanical clean is normally the most effective approach.
When it helps
- Rough idle or poor cold starts
- Misfires under load or at idle
- Flat spots and hesitation
- Reduced low and mid range power
- Airflow, EGR, or mixture related fault codes
